Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Prior warehousing or freight handling experience preferred.
• Hostler/yard mule duties experience preferred.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, w/ or w/o calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift/carry up to 100 lbs frequently, 75 lbs for trailer doors.
• Ability to bend, twist, squat, push/pull freight throughout shift.
• Work independently or as part of a team.
• Previous dock/warehouse experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Move freight using motorized and manual equipment (forklift, pallet jack, hand truck).
• Verify freight documentation matches description (type, weight, hazardous materials).
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and freight documentation.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Comply with laws, regulations and company policies.
• Perform other duties as required.
