Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a dockworker to move freight between trailers, docks, and loading zones. You will operate forklifts and manual equipment, verify freight documentation, and secure cargo for transit.

Starting pay is $21.16 per hour with a 15:30–20:00 shift. Hourly pay range $21.16–$24.75 reflects location and duties. The role requires basic math, ability to lift heavy loads, and reliable teamwork in a fast-paced dock environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Prior warehousing, freight handling or forklift experience preferred.
• If hostler duties required, experience preferred.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and open trailer doors with up to 75 pounds lift force multiple times daily.
• Ability to bend, twist, squat, push/pull freight throughout shift.
• Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team.
• Previous dock/warehouse experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck to move freight.
• Verify freight documentation matches description.
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps, or rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight as needed.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and freight documentation.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Comply with laws, regulations, and FedEx policies.
• Perform other duties as required.
