FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a dock associate to move freight between dock areas and trailers. The role involves using forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks to load and unload freight, verify documentation, and secure cargo for transport. You may assist customers and perform hostling duties as needed.

The position requires basic math, good communication, and the ability to work independently or in a team. Hours & shift timing apply to operational needs; starting pay is $21.16 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Ability to count and perform basic math.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Prior warehousing/freight handling or forklift experience preferred.
• Ability to lift/carry varying weights and operate dock equipment.

Responsibilities

• Transport freight across dock area to/from trailers.
• Verify freight documentation matches description (type, weight, hazmat).
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps or ropes.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and freight documentation as needed.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Comply with laws, regulations and company policies.
