Job summary

THOMAS Freight in Chicago is seeking an experienced Freight Forwarder to join our expanding logistics team. This role coordinates international and/or domestic shipments, communicates with customers, carriers, and internal teams, and ensures documentation accuracy from booking to delivery.

The ideal candidate has freight forwarding knowledge, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple shipments in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage freight shipments from booking through final delivery.
• Arrange and monitor air, ocean, and/or ground transportation.
• Communicate with customers, carriers, customs brokers, and overseas partners.
• Prepare and review shipping and freight documentation.
• Track shipments and proactively resolve delays or issues.
• Obtain and review freight rates and assist with quoting.
• Ensure shipments comply with applicable regulations and customer requirements.
• Maintain accurate shipment records and update internal systems.
• Provide timely updates to customers regarding shipment status.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure efficient and accurate shipment execution.
• Assist with resolving freight claims, discrepancies, and other operational issues as needed.

About the Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Freight Forwarder to join a growing logistics team in Chicago. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented logistics professional with experience coordinating international and/or domestic freight shipments and working closely with customers, carriers, and internal teams.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of freight forwarding operations, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
