People Freight | Freight Forwarding & Logistics Recruitment Specialists in Dallas, TX, seeks an experienced Freight Operations Manager to lead international air and ocean freight activities and supervise the operations team.

You will manage shipments end-to-end, ensure compliance and high customer service, coordinate with carriers and forwarders, and drive ongoing operational growth. 5+ years in international freight forwarding and prior leadership are required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in international freight forwarding.
• Air and ocean export experience is required.
• Previous supervisory or management experience in freight forwarding.
• Strong knowledge of international freight forwarding processes.
• Experience handling shipments from A to Z.
• Familiarity with freight documentation and international shipping procedures.
• Excellent problem‑solving and customer service skills.
• Strong communication and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee daily international freight forwarding operations
• Lead, support, and develop the operations team
• Oversee air and ocean import/export shipments from booking through final delivery
• Ensure accurate and timely completion of shipping and customs documentation
• Coordinate with airlines, steamship lines, truckers, warehouses, customs brokers, and overseas agents
• Monitor shipment status, resolve operational issues, and proactively manage delays
• Review and improve operational processes to increase efficiency and service levels
• Handle escalated customer issues and maintain strong client relationships
• Monitor operational KPIs, productivity, and service performance
• Work closely with sales and management teams to support customer retention and business growth
• Assist with rates, quotations, routing, and operational planning when required
• Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable international shipping regulations
• Provide hands‑on support to the team during busy periods

Requirements

• Previous supervisory, team‑lead, or management experience within freight forwarding
• Strong understanding of international freight forwarding processes
• Experience managing shipments from A–Z
• Strong knowledge of freight documentation and international shipping procedures
• Excellent problem‑solving and customer service skills
• Strong communication and organizational abilities
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
• Experience working with a freight forwarding operating system such as CargoWise is preferred
