Job summary

Reboot Monkey is seeking skilled Freelance Data Center Technicians to join our growing team. The role focuses on hands-on data center operations, with travel to client sites and flexible scheduling.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in a data center, strong server hardware experience, and proficiency with fiber cabling and rack & stack tasks. This is a physical, on-site role requiring independence and reliable communication.

Qualifications

• 3+ years hands-on experience in a data center environment.
• Strong server hardware experience (Dell, HPE, Supermicro, or similar).
• Proven experience with fiber cabling and patch panels.
• Excellent rack & stack and cable management discipline.

Responsibilities

• Install and replace CPUs, memory, drives, and disk caddies.
• Perform disk swaps, drive replacements, and basic hardware troubleshooting.
• Work confidently with motherboards, PCIe slots, risers, and PCIe adapters.
• Rack and stack servers, network, and storage equipment.
• Execute clean and structured cable management (copper and fiber).
• Handle single-mode and multi-mode fiber, including cleaning, routing, labeling, and patching.
• Maintain proper bend radius and data center best practices.
• Follow installation guides and remote instructions accurately.
• Support break/fix and deployment activities as required.
