Job summary

Reboot Monkey is seeking a Freelance Data Center Technician to support on-demand data center operations. The role covers hardware installation, troubleshooting, and network management across global facilities.

The candidate will work independently while coordinating with remote teams to ensure high reliability and secure, efficient data center performance. Responsibilities include on-site and remote monitoring, device configuration, and proactive maintenance.

Qualifications

• Experience with data center hardware and systems.
• Ability to work independently in a remote/global team.
• Willingness to operate on-site in Washington D.C. and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain servers, networking equipment, and other hardware for uptime and performance.
• Monitor data center operations remotely and on-site, diagnose and resolve issues quickly.
• Configure and troubleshoot networking devices (Cisco/Juniper) to ensure secure, efficient operations.
• Manage Linux and Windows systems, applying updates and security patches.
• Document installations, repairs, and performance reports for the remote management team.
• Implement security protocols to protect data center infrastructure and meet standards.
• Collaborate with remote IT teams and vendors on planning and execution of projects.
