About The Role
As a founding member of our GTM team, you'll own our outbound strategy and have the responsibility of generating pipeline. This is a ground floor opportunity to be the first SDR at Soma Lab and help shape our go-to-market strategy. You'll be joining a fast-paced startup environment where your role will evolve as we grow. You’ll have the autonomy to experiment with different approaches and directly impact our sales pipeline development. For the right candidate, this role offers a clear path to progress into an Account Executive position as we expand our GTM org.
A Day in the Life
- Start your day with a clear plan, diving into targeted prospecting across channels (primarily cold emailing).
- Conduct research on and reach out to target accounts and prospects mainly through outbound methods (cold calling, cold emailing).
- Leverage your knowledge of essential SDR tools (CRMs, outreach platforms, research tools) to streamline workflow and manage a robust pipeline.
- Continuously refine and optimize outreach processes—experience as an early-stage SDR is preferred.
- Maintain meticulous records of all prospect interactions in our CRM to ensure smooth handoffs to the founders.
- Collaborate with founders and colleagues to share insights and feedback that drive growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Generation: Conduct targeted outreach to identify and engage potential clients across various verticals.
- Prospect Qualification: Qualify leads based on needs, pain points, and interest levels.
- Outreach Strategy: Develop and execute outreach strategies (cold emailing and other methods) to generate interest and build the top of the sales funnel.
- Pipeline Management: Keep organized records of prospect interactions and progress in our CRM for smooth handoffs.
- Collaboration: Work closely with founders to refine lead generation and qualification strategies.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: 1-3+ years as an SDR, preferably at an early-stage company, with a proven outbound lead generation track record.
- Tool Savvy: Deep knowledge of SDR tools and ability to hit the ground running.
- Self-Starter: Highly motivated, ready to own your role in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Communication Pro: Exceptional written and verbal skills to engage prospects effectively.
- Process-Oriented: Familiar with SDR playbook, eager to refine and optimize outreach processes.
- Organization: Extremely organized, following strict processes to maintain CRM cleanliness and track experiments and results.
- Sales Dev Best Practices: Experienced with tools, messaging, and scaling outbound efforts without spamming inboxes.
- Ownership: Willing to take high ownership in an early-stage environment, shaping your role as the company grows.

Pay Transparency
- The annual base salary range is $50,000 - $75,000, with commissions and OTE up to $90,000 - $100,000.
