Job summary

Thomson Reuters Foundation seeks a Lead Software Engineer for the CoCounsel Legal Mobile App to set the technical bar and lead a new mobile team on iOS and Android. You will drive platform architecture, deliver production code, mentor engineers, and collaborate with Product to shape what gets built.

You will architect foundation decisions, write hands-on code, and ensure quality in a fast-paced, enterprise environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience with iOS (Swift/SwiftUI) and/or Android (Kotlin/Jetpack Compose)
• Proven experience leading mobile product direction and architecture decisions
• Track record shipping production mobile apps to real users
• Experience integrating mobile apps with cloud APIs (streaming, OAuth/SSO, file handling)
• Strong mobile UX sense and accessibility expectations on iOS/Android
• Ability to mentor engineers through code reviews and design discussions
• Clear technical communicator able to explain tradeoffs to engineers and product partners

Responsibilities

• Establish the technical foundation of the CoCounsel Mobile app and decide platform strategy
• Deliver hands-on iOS and/or Android code across core features
• Integrate the mobile app with backend services and APIs
• Define and uphold mobile engineering standards: reviews, testing, performance, accessibility
• Mentor mobile engineers and foster growth in a greenfield environment
• Collaborate with Product and Design to translate requirements into solid mobile experiences
• Share mobile insights and patterns with other teams building web and desktop experiences
