Job summary

Thomson Reuters is hiring a Lead Software Engineer for the CoCounsel Legal Desktop App. You will establish the technical foundation, set architecture standards, and personally ship production desktop code for Windows and macOS, while mentoring a growing team and aligning with product goals.

You will collaborate with Engineering Manager and Product to shape the product from its early decisions and ensure a scalable, native-feeling desktop experience for lawyers.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering with desktop focus.
• Experience leading desktop product direction and architecture.
• Proven track record shipping production desktop apps for enterprise.

Responsibilities

• Define architecture choices, framework, packaging, and IPC for the desktop app.
• Deliver production-quality desktop code across core features and OS integrations.
• Integrate desktop app with back-end APIs, streaming, auth, and workspace infra.
• Define desktop engineering standards, code reviews, and testing strategies.
• Mentor desktop engineers and collaborate with product/design on feasible solutions.
• Share patterns with other teams and contribute to broader application experience.
