Job summary

Aboon is seeking a senior analytics engineer to own the data layer of our AI-native retirement servicing platform. You will manage transformations, semantics, and AI-access layers, enabling product, revenue, and operations analytics. This is fully remote in the US, with a flat team and Shape Up cadence.

You will build scalable data models, maintain dashboards, and advocate for data governance, lineage, and self-serve access across engineering, servicing, GTM, and leadership.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in analytics/data engineering or hybrid role.
• Expert with dbt or similar data-modeling infra.
• Proficient with a BI tool (Metabase).
• Proficient with coding agents; not hand-rolled SQL/dbt models.
• Experience building a semantic layer (dbt Semantic Layer, Cube, etc).
• Experience enabling data for AI — MCP servers/LLM data access.
• Familiar with product analytics tools (PostHog/Amplitude).
• Understanding of cloud data warehouses (Redshift).
• Excellent communication with non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong governance: metric definitions, data lineage, open access.

Responsibilities

• Own our dbt repo and build out marts for tracking/company metrics.
• Govern semantic layer and MCP connectors for safe AI querying.
• Coordinate data dictionary and enable self-serve analytics across teams.
• Maintain product analytics taxonomy and dashboards, ensure data trust.
• Model the business: lifecycle speed, funnel, revenue, unit economics.
• Partner with engineering on warehouse architecture and data contracts.
• Be the go-to person when numbers matter.
