Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Seattle is seeking a dedicated professional to further develop and lead the Foundational Community Supports (FCS) program at the Social Impact Center Y. You will train staff, coordinate services, and expand the program to new teams, helping low-income youth and young adults build life skills and independence.

You will partner with leadership to advance program goals, ensure contract fidelity, and maintain documentation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required in psychology, social work, administration or related field or other equivalent experience.
  • Minimum three years of experience working with teens or young adults in foster care, group care, housing, education, juvenile justice, anti-poverty, vocational support, mental health, chemical dependency and/or homelessness fields.
  • Ability to teach effective independence skills for a variety of learning styles and to plan supportive activities.
  • Comfortable leading and presenting training sessions to other teams online or in person.
  • Strong youth engagement and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including coaching and giving/receiving feedback.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Basic computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Current state approved First Aid and CPR certification.*
  • Current approved HIV blood borne pathogens training.*
  • Prefer knowledge of and previous experience with, diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Provides Foundational Community Supports program coordination and information to other Y Social Impact Center staff as needed. Coaches staff in program areas to ensure highest level of service.
  • Work with Program Director and other internal teams to further develop the FCS program as it expands to other teams and departments.
  • Work closely with contract monitors to maintain program fidelity and contract compliance.
  • Complete Contract Fidelity Reviewer training ensuring internal program is contract compliant and participant in two external audits per contract year.
  • Provides specialized services to young adults in education, employment/career development, housing, technology or other designated field and supports them in achieving their goals.
  • Builds and maintains collaborative relationships with funding liaisons, other service providers, businesses and/or educational institutions as related to specialized services.
  • Supports participant success in key domains such as safe and stable housing, permanent connections to supportive adults, education and employment, health and well‑being, and life skills.
  • Assists with accurately completing monthly billing and reporting.
  • Participates in on‑call rotation for FC Permanency.
