Job summary

Seattle YMCA is seeking a Program Supervisor for Year Round Youth Development Programs. You will lead before/after school and summer day camp staff, ensure implementation of developmentally appropriate activities, supervise staff/volunteers, and maintain strong relationships with families and school partners.

The role is onsite across multiple elementary locations in our district. The position starts 8/17 and requires 35–40 hours weekly, with shifts aligned to school schedules.

Qualifications

• Three years or more of experience working with children, camps, childcare, tutoring or nannying.
• One year or more of supervisory experience.
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Have completed 30 credits of 100-level or above college-level coursework.
• 21 years of age or older.
• Ability to model and demonstrate Y values; caring, respect, responsibility and honesty.
• Experience planning and implementing group activities.
• We require pre-employment TB tests and MMR vaccination.

Responsibilities

• Ensures planning and implementation of culturally relevant and developmentally appropriate activities within the curriculum.
• Hires, trains, supervises and evaluates child care site staff/volunteers.
• Maintains required staff/child ratios.
• Communicates with parents/guardians including newsletters and conferences.
• Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including medical and disciplinary procedures.
• Maintains professional relationships with families and school/community staff.
• Maintains site facilities and budgets as needed.
• Recruits enrollments and partners with schools for onsite presence.
