Job summary

Thompson is seeking a Licensing and Training Specialist in the Foster Care Department to recruit, train, and license foster parents, and to guide them through licensing with state and agency documents. You’ll provide pre-service training, ensure compliance, and support families with quarterly supervision and documentation.

Typical hours are 8–5 with some evenings or weekends for meetings or marketing. Strong customer service, communication, and ability to work independently or with a team are

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in social work or related field required.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant professional experience.
• Valid Driver’s License and licensing/credentialing standards met in NC.
• Proficient in MS Office; strong written and oral communication.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, train, and license foster parents per state and agency policy.
• Provide pre-service training and quarterly supervision/assessment.
• Maintain audit-ready files and submit licensing docs to state and agency.
• Public speaking and marketing to recruit families; ensure safe placements.
