Job summary

Thompson is seeking a Licensing and Training Specialist to join the Foster Care Department in North Carolina. You will recruit, train, license, and support foster families, delivering pre-service training and guiding applicants through licensing while ensuring compliance and documentation accuracy.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in social work or related field, at least 2 years of relevant experience, and a valid driver’s license. Strong communication and MS Office skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with good written and verbal communication.
• Must pass drug screen and extensive background check.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, train, and license foster parents.
• Provide pre-service training for potential foster parents.
• Assess and evaluate potential foster parents per policy.
• Guide applicants through licensing and submit documents to the state.
• Maintain audit-ready files and provide quarterly supervision.
• Collaborate with the foster care coordinator to support placements.
• Public speaking and marketing to recruit families.
