Job summary

Thompson in North Carolina is seeking a Licensing and Training Specialist in the Foster Care Department. You will recruit, train, and license foster parents, provide pre-service training, assess potential foster parents, and guide them through licensing with state and agency documentation.

You will work 8-5 with occasional evenings or weekends, collaborating with the foster care team to ensure safe placements, maintain audit-ready files, and support families with comprehensive, compassionate

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field required.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience.
• Valid driver’s license and credentialing/licensing requirements met for the program.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; excellent written and oral communication.
• All candidates must pass a drug screening and background check.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, train, and license foster parents and provide pre-service training.
• Assess and evaluate potential foster parents per state and agency policy; guide through licensing and maintain documentation.
• Provide quarterly supervision/assessment and keep audit-ready files; support placement safety with foster care coordinator.
