Job summary

Thompson is seeking a Licensing and Training Specialist in the Foster Care Department to recruit, train, and license foster families across the Carolinas. You will provide pre-service training, assess applicants, guide them through licensing, and maintain compliant documentation and audit-ready files.

Typical day runs 8–5 with occasional evenings or weekends; strong customer service, independent work and teamwork to ensure safe placements, plus public speaking and marketing to recruit families

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or related field is required.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience.
• Must pass drug screening and extensive background check.
• Must have valid Driver’s License and meet credentialing standards in NC.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, train, and license foster parents in the Foster Care Department.
• Provide pre-service training and assess candidates per state and agency policy.
• Guide applicants through licensing and submit required documentation to state and agency.
• Maintain audit-ready files and ensure ongoing compliance with training.
• Public speaking and marketing to recruit families; support placements.
