Job summary

Pearson is seeking a forward deployed engineer to embed with our strategic internal lines of business, solve real problems, and ship working software directly. You will own frontend, backend, data, integrations, deployment, and observability, delivering production AI applications against real workflows.

Expect fast iteration, ambiguity, and deep collaboration across teams in a dynamic environment. You will interact with stakeholders on ground, translate needs into tangible software, and

Qualifications

• 8+ years of full-stack engineering experience; shipping production systems end to end.
• Strong CS fundamentals; ability to whiteboard service architectures and discuss tradeoffs.
• Frontend depth with modern React and TypeScript; quality UI.

Responsibilities

• Go where the problem is by working with internal stakeholders and building end-to-end systems.
• Conduct real discovery by observing users and translating needs into buildable software.
• Ship working software during conversations, not just wireframes.
• Handle messy inputs and turn them into coherent solutions.
• Build production AI applications on frontier models and retrieval systems.
• Iterate rapidly across multiple engagements and evolving requirements.
• Own the full stack, from frontend to observability and deployment.
• Codify patterns and push improvements back to platform teams.
• Maintain long-term relationships with lines of business and identify new opportunities.
