Job summary

Pearson is seeking a forward deployed engineer to embed with internal lines of business, turning ambiguous problems into working software. You will own frontend, backend, data, and deployment, delivering real AI-powered applications that integrate with customer workflows.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of full-stack engineering experience with production systems.
• Strong CS fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, system design.
• Frontend depth: modern React, TypeScript, component architecture.
• Backend depth: Node.js, Java, Python, API design, auth, error handling.
• Production LLM experience: prompts, agents, retrieval, deployment at scale.
• Data fluency: databases and Python data tooling.
• Cloud and deployment fluency: AWS, GCP, or Azure; CI/CD, containers, observability.
• Integration experience: SSO, OAuth, APIs, legacy databases.
• High agency and cooperation: navigate ambiguity across teams.
• Education: Bachelor's in CS or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Go where the problem is and build end-to-end software for stakeholders.
• Conduct real discovery by watching users and translating needs into buildable solutions.
• Ship working software during meetings and iterate quickly based on feedback.
• Handle messy inputs and turn them into coherent, usable outputs.
• Deliver production AI applications on frontier LLMs and related tech.
• Own the full stack including frontend, backend, data, and deployment.
• Codify patterns and push them back to platform teams for reuse.
• Maintain ongoing relationships with lines of business through the lifecycle.
