Job summary

Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. is seeking a Construction Control Representative to support Fort Hood, TX. You will act as the on-site QA representative, monitor contractor performance, and verify contract compliance through pre-construction to closeout.

Duties include daily site inspections, submittal reviews, RFIs, schedule monitoring, safety plan verification, and closeout support. Strong writing and organizational skills are essential; DoD project experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; AAS or Bachelors preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in large, complex construction projects.
• Experience with federal DoD/USACE projects strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of OSHA and EM 385-1-1 safety requirements.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, shop drawings, and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Observe and inspect construction activities to ensure compliance with contract plans, specs, schedules, safety requirements, and quality standards.
• Perform daily site inspections and document project activities, contractor performance, safety observations, work progress, and manpower levels using RMS and other project management systems.
• Monitor construction schedules and advise the Resident Engineer, COR, and project team of potential delays, schedule impacts, or performance concerns.
• Review and analyze contractor submittals, including shop drawings, quality control plans, safety plans, environmental plans, certifications, and progress schedules.
• Participate in the review and processing of RFIs, coordinating responses with designers, engineers, technical experts, and project stakeholders.
• Prepare correspondence regarding contractor performance, REAs, contract compliance issues, and technical concerns.
• Conduct QA inspections throughout all phases of construction and verify compliance with the three-phase inspection process.
• Assist in developing scopes of work, government estimates, contract modifications, and technical evaluations of contractor proposals.
• Review contractor payment requests and assist in preparing partial and final payment estimates, including verification of quantities completed and materials stored on-site.
• Monitor contractor compliance with OSHA standards, EM 385-1-1 Safety and Health Requirements Manual, environmental requirements, and site-specific safety plans.
• Maintain project records, logs, reports, photographs, inspection documentation, and construction correspondence.
• Support project meetings, progress reviews, partnering sessions, and customer site visits.
• Assist with project closeout activities, punch-list inspections, turnover documentation, and warranty tracking.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
