Responsibilities include building forms, reading blueprints, laying out materials, using hand and power tools, erecting scaffolding, and ensuring safety compliance.

The role involves physical work at heights, site coordination, and contributing to project timelines with precise workmanship.

Qualifications

• May require a high school diploma or its equivalent with previous years of experience in the field.
• Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a field.
• Follows instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform functions.
• Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.

Responsibilities

• Builds wooden structures such as stairs, forms, scaffolds, and supports according to blueprints or oral instructions.
• Examines blueprints or plans to determine material requirements and dimensions.
• Selects, loads, and hauls job material to the work site.
• Prepares layout of form or fixture using lines and grades.
• Measures materials and marks cutting lines; shapes to size with saws and planes.
• Verifies accuracy of structure with transit, plumb bob, square and level.
• Uses carpentry hand tools and power tools.
• Erects scaffolding and installs ladders, rails, walkways.
• Constructs forms and aligns panels for pouring concrete.
• Fits and installs window frames, doors, weatherstripping, trim, hardware.
• Sets anchor bolts and braces forms.
• May perform minor maintenance or cleaning.
• Observe safety rules.
