Job summary

Brown & Root Industrial Services seeks a Journeyman carpenter with 3+ years field experience to read and interpret instructions, plan work, and perform independently. Builds forms, scaffolds, frames, and fixtures using wood, metal, and other materials as per blueprints.

You will measure, cut, assemble, and install formwork for concrete, erect scaffolding, handle hand tools, and ensure safety compliance. This role requires physical stamina and the ability to work at heights in a construction

Qualifications

• May require a high school diploma or its equivalent with previous years of experience in the field.
• Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
• Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
• Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.

Responsibilities

• Builds and installs form work and supports as per blueprints or instructions.
• Examines blueprints or building plans to determine materials and dimensions.
• Selects, loads, and hauls job material to work site.
• Prepares layout of form or fixture to be fabricated using lines or grades.
• Measures and marks cutting lines on materials; shapes materials to required sizes.
• Verifies accuracy of structure with transit, plumb bob, square and level.
• Operates carpentry hand and power tools.
• Erects scaffolding and installs ladders, handrails, platforms, and walkways.
• Constructs forms and aligns form panels for pouring concrete and grout.
• Fits and installs window frames, doors, trim, and hardware.
• Follows safety rules and project requirements; performs other duties as required.
