Job summary

Brown & Root Industrial Services is seeking a skilled carpenter to build, position, and dismantle wooden structures per sketches, blueprints, or company standards. You will examine materials, read plans, and assemble scaffolding to support concrete piers, footings, and walls.

You will work under supervision, measure accurately, and follow safety rules. The role involves handling tools, lifting materials, and maintaining equipment, with opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; familiarity with standard practices in the field.
• Under supervision; follows instructions and established guidelines.
• Reports to supervisor or manager; no independent judgment expected.

Responsibilities

• Examine, select, and gather materials and tools.
• Read blueprints and specs to determine dimensions.
• Inspect base surface for obstructions.
• Load, transport, and unload materials.
• Measure and mark boards and plywood; cut to size.
• Saw boards and plywood to required sizes.
• Use carpentry hand tools (hammers, levels, squares, screwdrivers).
• Assemble scaffold components per specs.
• Brace forms with timbers and anchors for concrete work.
• Secure scaffolding to structures; install ladders and walkways.
• Set anchor bolts; rig materials as needed.
• Perform minor maintenance on tools and equipment.
• Observe safety and project rules; perform other duties.
