Job summary

Americold in New York state is seeking a Warehouse Worker to safely receive, store, and ship food products using forklifts and related equipment. You will help direct on-shift work, train associates, and ensure on-time completion while upholding safety and procedural standards.

The role requires handling various warehouse tasks, maintaining an orderly environment, and supporting supervisors to meet production goals in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Three months’ related experience preferred.
• Relevant certifications.
• Some computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Direct the work of others up to 25% of the shift, discuss daily plan with supervisor, assist in training, and inform supervisor of issues.
• Load and unload freight using equipment safely and efficiently.
• Move product to storage areas with appropriate equipment.
• Stack and store merchandise correctly in designated areas.
• Pick orders for shipment and assemble merchandise.
• Check freight for accuracy, damage, or infestation.
• Assist in maintaining warehouse security and safety procedures.
• Participate in physical inventories as needed.
• Label, sort, wrap, pack, and repack items.
• Operate equipment safely (stand up forklift, stand up straddle truck, walk behinds, pallet jacks, RF devices).
• Report safety malfunctions and comply with OSHA standards.
