Job summary

Providence Swedish is seeking a Forensic Mental Health Clinician/Court Evaluator to bridge mental health treatment with civil legal matters. You will perform clinical evaluations, navigate DSM criteria, and prepare ITA petitions for Washington hearings.

The role requires handling ITA processes and acting as an expert witness while documenting findings in the EMR and collaborating with the treatment team. The position emphasizes knowledge of RCW 71.05/71.34 and WAC, with duties including staff

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or PhD in relevant field.
• Licenses required at hire (LCSW/LMHC/licensed psychologist).
• Minimum 2 years in acute mental healthcare settings.
• Familiarity with ITA, RCW 71.xx and WAC.
• Ability to conduct forensic evaluations and prepare legal petitions.

Responsibilities

• Perform forensic clinical evaluations for ITA patients.
• Prepare ITA petitions for 14/90/180‑day hearings.
• Represent Providence Swedish as an expert witness in ITA proceedings.
• Document evaluations and orders in the EMR; manage related paperwork.
• Educate and guide staff on ITA laws and regulatory processes.

Education

Master's Degree in Social Work or Counseling

Ph.D. in Social Work or Psychology

Washington Mental Health Counselor License

Washington Clinical Independent Social Worker License

Washington Psychologist License

2 years of experience in acute mental healthcare
