Job summary

CGS Federal is seeking an Auditor to provide general auditing and accounting services in support of fraud investigations involving complex financial transactions and organizations attempting to evade detection.

The role requires developing audit guidelines, coordinating investigations, and drafting reports; candidates should be proficient in various accounting systems and demonstrate strong communication across teams.

Qualifications

• Four-year undergraduate degree or higher in statistical/data analysis, finance, accounting, fraud examination, or other related field.
• Minimum 3 years of professional work experience in finance, accounting, fraud examination or statistical/data analysis.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.
• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain adjudication for the requisite background investigation.
• Experience reviewing medical records and knowledge of medical billing procedures; STARS and/or Business Objects experience.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and audit a variety of accounting systems.
• Organize and present a large volume of data (bank records, healthcare claims, tax records, etc.) using common software.
• Assist with investigations planning, including quantitative and qualitative analyses to identify witnesses and documents.
• Prepare concise, accurate reports with charts, summaries and schedules.
• Assist with interviews of representatives from financial institutions, CPAs, and witnesses.
• Utilize electronic databases to identify assets and documents.
• Assess an entity's ability to pay penalties from financial disclosures and asset/liability review.
• Develop, coordinate, and issue draft technical audit guidelines for financial audits and investigations.
• Prepare interim and final reports for staff use.
• Arrange secure storage and indexing of documentary evidence.
• Assist in compiling/analyzing documents and evidence, and create charts/graphs for motions and trial.
• Meet with federal, state, and local agency personnel as needed.
