Job summary

Ghidotti | Berger LLP is seeking a Remote Foreclosure Specialist to provide administrative support on Illinois matters. You will assist attorneys with case prep, document production, and filing across multiple courts, while maintaining accurate case files and client communications.

The role requires 2+ years in judicial foreclosure, familiarity with mortgage foreclosure portals, and strong organizational skills.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of foreclosure experience, preferably full-cycle in Illinois.
• Experience with mortgage foreclosure portals (CRMs).
• Strong organizational skills with multiple deadlines.
• Clear written and verbal communication.
• Knowledge of legal terms, documents, and court processes.
• Illinois law firm e-filing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Compile, prepare, and summarize materials for attorneys.
• Maintain and update active case files in the firm database.
• Conduct legal and operational research for case prep.
• Interact with clients to gather supporting documentation.
• Assist attorneys with case file management.

About The Role

We are seeking a Remote Foreclosure Specialist who will be primarily responsible for providing administrative support on matters assigned in Illinois. Tasks assigned to Foreclosure Specialists include but are not limited to:

Responsibilities

• Compiling, preparing, and summarizing relevant information and materials to be used by attorneys in discovery and in preparation of complaints, motions, briefs, pretrial memorandums, and other legal documents
• Maintaining and updating active case files in the firm’s database
• Performing legal and operational research as part of case prep and suit filing
• Interacting with clients as directed to gather appropriate support documentation
• Assisting attorneys with all aspects of a case file management, including research, document production, accuracy reviews, and cost tracking
• Preparing documents for attorney review including but not limited to complaints, motions, proposed orders, proofs of service, and other documents as assigned
• Completing service of documents as required by local rules.
• Filing documents with various courts throughout the various states/ jurisdictions
• Calendaring deadlines and hearing dates
• Preparing client status reports
• Responding to client inquiries
• Internal and client system updates
• Communicating with team members both verbally and in written form to understand team goals, then help execute on the plan to realize those goals
• Multitasking, prioritizing, and working efficiently from one task to the next.

Requirements

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Full-Cycle/Cradle to Grave experience within Judicial Foreclosure (IL preferred)
• 2+ years experience with mortgage foreclosure reporting web portals (CRMs)
• Organizational skills: Meticulous attention to detail and ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Communication skills: Clear and effective written and verbal communication, as well as strong interpersonal skills.
• Legal terminology and procedure knowledge: (Understanding legal terms, documents, and court processes.)
• Critical thinking: Ability to analyze information, identify key issues, and develop solutions.
• Law Firm and e-filing experience (preferably in Illinois)
