Job summary

Indiana University Health in Indianapolis is seeking a part-time Supplemental/PRN Food Service Worker at IU Health University Hospital to support patient meals and related service.

You will prepare, plate, serve and transport food, ensure timely and courteous service, follow sanitation and infection control practices, and operate food service and computer equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• No experience required. Food service experience preferred.
• Ability to operate kitchen equipment.
• Must wear protective equipment/clothing as required by environment or regulations.
• Adherence to local health regulations and safety requirements.
• Ability to climb ladders.
• Physical requirements include standing long periods and lifting up to 35 lbs, up to 80% of the time.

• Ensures timely, accurate, and courteous service.
• Maintains sanitation, cleaning, and infection control practices to ensure food safety.

Supplemental/PRN, 0-23 hours per week, as needed.

Schedule

Rotating shift hours. 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM and/or 11:30 AM - 8:00 PM. Based on business needs.

Shift Differentials

Eligible for evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsible for timely, accurate, and courteous service. Responsible for associated sanitation, cleaning, and infection control practices to ensure food safety. Operates a variety of food service and computer equipment.

Position Requirements

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience is preferred.
• No experience is required. Prior food service experience is preferred.
• Requires the ability to operate kitchen equipment.
• Must be able to wear protective equipment/clothing required by the environment or government regulations such as gowns, gloves, goggles, rubber-soled closed-toe footwear, etc.
• Requires adherence to local health regulations and safety requirements to produce safe food for consumption.
• Requires the ability to climb ladders.
• Physical requirements to include: reaching, standing for long periods of time, squatting, bending, carrying and/or lifting supplies and equipment weighing 35 lbs. or more, up to 80% of the time.
