Job summary

Indiana University Health is seeking a part-time Food Service Worker to support Nutrition Services at North Hospital. You will prepare, plate, serve, and transport meals to patients, families, and staff, with a focus on timely, accurate, and courteous service.

The role requires standing for long periods, ability to operate kitchen equipment, and adherence to sanitation and health regulations, including wearing required PPE. Weekend and holiday rotating shifts with 0-24 hours weekly supplementals.

Qualifications

• Able to operate kitchen equipment.
• Must wear PPE as required by environment/regulations.
• Adherence to local health regulations and safety requirements.
• Ability to climb ladders.
• Physical capacity to lift up to 35 lbs and stand for long periods.

Primary Responsibilities:

Prepares, plates, serves, and transports food and supplies to provide a high level of satisfaction for patients, family members, physicians, team members, and the public. Responsible for timely, accurate, and courteous service. Responsible for associated sanitation, cleaning, and infection control practices to ensure food safety. Operates a variety of food service and computer equipment.

Candidate Requirements:

• Requires the ability to operate kitchen equipment.


• Must be able to wear protective equipment/clothing required by the environment or government regulations such as gowns, gloves, goggles, rubber-soled closed-toe footwear, etc.


• Requires adherence to local health regulations and safety requirements to produce safe food for consumption.


• Requires the ability to climb ladders.


• Physical requirements to include: reaching, standing for long periods of time, squatting, bending, carrying and/or lifting supplies and equipment weighing 35 lbs. or more, up to 80% of the time.

Candidate Preferred:

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience is preferred.


• No experience is required. Prior food service experience is preferred.
