Job summary

Indiana University Health in Bloomington is seeking a part-time Food Service Associate to support the Bloomington Hospital campus. You will prepare, plate, serve, and transport meals and related supplies to patients, families, physicians, and staff, ensuring timely and courteous service.

The role emphasizes sanitation, infection control, and safe food-handling practices, with responsibility for operating kitchen and computer equipment and adhering to health regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience preferred.
• No experience is required. Prior food service experience is preferred.
• Ability to operate kitchen equipment.
• Must wear protective equipment/clothing as required by environment or regulations.
• Adherence to local health regulations and safety requirements to produce safe food for consumption.
• Ability to climb ladders.

Schedule: This is a part time position that requires weekend and weekday availability

• Weekends: 6:00am- 3:30pm
• Weekdays: 3:00pm- 8:30pm

Location: Bloomington Hospital

• Prepares, plates, serves, and transports food and supplies to provide a high level of satisfaction for patients, family members, physicians, team members, and the public.
• Responsible for timely, accurate, and courteous service.
• Responsible for associated sanitation, cleaning, and infection control practices to ensure food safety.
• Operates a variety of food service and computer equipment.

Qualifications

• No experience is required. Prior food service experience is preferred.
• Requires the ability to operate kitchen equipment.
• Must be able to wear protective equipment/clothing required by the environment or government regulations such as gowns, gloves, goggles, rubber‑soled closed‑toe footwear, etc.
• Requires adherence to local health regulations and safety requirements to produce safe food for consumption.
• Requires the ability to climb ladders.
• Physical requirements to include: reaching, standing for long periods of time, squatting, bending, carrying and/or lifting supplies and equipment weighing 35 lbs. or more, up to 80% of the time.
