Job summary

IU Health Tipton Hospital is seeking a patient-focused Food Service Assistant to prepare, plate, and deliver meals to patients and staff. You will contribute to a warm, caring environment by ensuring accurate portions and timely service.

This role requires adherence to infection control and sanitation standards, along with the ability to operate various kitchen and computer systems to support daily operations. Schedule includes Tue/Wed and every other weekend from 10:30am-6:30pm.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• No prior experience required; food service experience is a plus.
• Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and follow health regulations.

• Responsible for timely, accurate, and courteous service.
• Responsible for associated sanitation, cleaning, and infection control practices to ensure food safety.
• Operates a variety of food service and computer equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience is preferred.
• No experience is required.
• Prior food service experience is preferred.
• Requires the ability to operate kitchen equipment.
• Must be able to wear protective equipment/clothing required by the environment or government regulations such as gowns, gloves, goggles, rubber-soled closed-toe footwear, etc.
• Requires adherence to local health regulations and safety requirements to produce safe food for consumption.
• Physical requirements to include: reaching, standing for long periods of time, squatting, bending, carrying and/or lifting supplies and equipment.
