Job summary

IU Health in Bloomington Hospital is seeking a part-time food service teammate to prepare, plate, serve and transport meals to patients and staff. You will ensure timely, accurate, and courteous service while maintaining high cleanliness and infection-control standards.

Responsibilities include operating kitchen equipment, adhering to health regulations, and handling food safely in a fast-paced hospital environment. This role involves lifting, standing, and working rotating shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience is preferred.
• No experience is required. Prior food service experience is preferred.
• Requires the ability to operate kitchen equipment.
• Must be able to wear protective equipment/clothing required by the environment or government regulations such as gowns, gloves, goggles, rubber-soled closed-toe footwear, etc.
• Requires adherence to local health regulations and safety requirements to produce safe food for consumption.
• Requires the ability to climb ladders.
• Physical requirements to include: reaching, standing for long periods of time, squatting, bending, carrying and/or lifting supplies and equipment weighing 35 lbs. or more, up to 80% of the time.
