About This Position

The Food Service Supervisor is responsible for supervising inmate labor and team members assisting with food service in a correctional facility. This role involves preparing and serving various food items efficiently and accurately, following work instructions and menus, and utilizing food preparation utensils and machines.

Essential Functions/Core Responsibilities

• Supervise inmate labor and team members during food prep and service shifts.
• Prepare and assist in food preparation according to menus and recipes.
• Ensure proper storage and sanitation of food.
• Serve food on schedule, following policies and procedures.
• Use kitchen utensils and equipment to cook, prepare, and serve food.
• Follow all food safety regulations.
• Train other food service workers.
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas and equipment.
• Follow uniform and safety policies.
• Manage waste and keep the kitchen environment clean.
• Ensure proper portioning and utensil use.
• Promote a safe and healthy work environment.
• This role involves physical activities such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need

• Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent; at least 18 years old.
• Preferred: Prior institutional food service or restaurant experience.
