State of South Carolina Department of Corrections seeks a supervisory food service manager to oversee inmate kitchen staff and ensure safe, quality meals while maintaining daily operations per policy.

Responsibilities include interviewing and hiring, staff training, coordinating with inmate representatives, and passing health and safety inspections. Certification requirements include ServSafe manager within six months and completion of state training.

Qualifications

• State of South Carolina minimum requirements: related food service experience.
• SCDC minimum requirements: quantity and quality cooking experience; SERV Safe manager certification or within six months.
• SCDC training requirements: certification by SCDC Training Academy or completion of basic training upon hire.
• Must complete basic supervisory course within eighteen months of employment.

Responsabilités

• Interviews, hires, evaluates and terminates inmate food service staff.
• Trains cooks, bakers, kitchen and dining staff in all duties.
• Supervises personnel in daily duties.
• Maintains internal security of the cafeteria as an officer.
• Works with inmate representative committee to resolve problems and complaints.
• Ensures accurate preparation of all food orders weekly and accurate deliveries.
• Prepares cook's worksheet per SCDC master menu and maintains 5-year records.
• Meets health, fire and OSHA inspections.
• Ensures maintenance/repair work on cafeteria equipment.
• Must attain ServSafe manager certification within six months of employment.
