Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; five years’ quantity/quality cooking experience.
• Experience supervising civilian and inmate food service staff preferred.
• Familiarity with HACCP/ServSafe concepts or willingness to obtain certification.

Responsibilities

• Interview, hire, evaluate, and terminate food service staff (civilian and inmate).
• Organize purchases, preparation, service of meals, and maintain equipment/facilities.
• Conduct frequent inspections to ensure standards are met and safety is maintained.
• Supervise, instruct, and counsel staff; coordinate food preparation techniques.
• Coordinate health, fire, and OSHA inspections and related documentation.
• Maintain cafeteria equipment maintenance/repair records and schedules.
• Prepare cook's worksheets per the master menu and keep 5-year records.
