Position: Fresh Foods Supervisor

The supervisor will oversee all activities of the deli/food service department and its staff to meet merchandising, sales, and customer service goals. Candidates must have at least 2 years of food service management experience and a passion for food and customer service.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Managing department staff, achieving goals, and communicating with store management and supervisors.
• Hiring, onboarding, and coaching new team members.
• Scheduling staff shifts.
• Engaging with customers, providing product information, sampling, and expressing gratitude.
• Processing customer orders and ensuring satisfaction.
• Maintaining food safety and sanitation standards per regulations.
• Ordering supplies and maintaining stock levels.
• Overseeing food preparation, merchandising, and presentation of items like entrees, fried foods, pizzas, salads, soups, sandwiches, and beverages.
• Following recipes accurately and rotating stock for quality and safety.
• Receiving and stocking merchandise, auditing invoices, and managing inventory counts.
• Completing paperwork accurately and timely.
• Handling cash transactions and ensuring correct pricing and signage.
• Maintaining cleanliness and organization of work areas and storage.
• Ensuring safety procedures are followed.
• Performing additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least 18 years old.
• Minimum 2 years in a management role within a food service environment.
• Flexible to work weekends, holidays, and evenings; willing to assist other locations.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.
• Serv-Safe certification preferred.
• Passion for food and creativity.
• Professional communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
• Basic math skills and familiarity with POS systems.
• Ability to read labels, signage, and policies.
• Knowledge of deli ingredients and food preparation.

Physical Requirements:

• Lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.
• Reaching, bending, and working in coolers/freezers.
• Stand for long periods and maneuver merchandise.
• Dexterity to use knives, slicers, and cooking equipment.
