Job summary

Maschio's Food Service Inc. is seeking a Food Service Manager for a school program in the Newton, NJ area.

The role is Monday through Friday, full-time, day shift with summers off; no weekends or holidays. You will lead daily operations, coordinate cooking and meal preparation to NSLP guidelines, manage ordering and inventory, assist with POS and record-keeping, and ensure safety and cleanliness in a fast-paced team environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in school food service management is a plus.
• ServSafe certification is a plus.
• Must be able to obtain the proper documentation to work in schools.

Responsibilities

• Managing the operation on a daily basis.
• Cooking - Food preparation, following NSLP guidelines.
• Ordering - Placing orders, inventory, assist in promotions.
• POS/Register - Assist workers with cash collection and record keeping.
• Safety - Ensure PPE is used at all times.
• Cleanliness - Maintain a clean and safe kitchen.
• Staffing - Secure food service workers and substitutes.

Duties to Include:

• Managing the operation on a daily basis.
• Cooking - Food preparation, cooking a variety of foods, following recipes, portion control, production standards according to the NSLP guidelines.
• Ordering - Placing orders, inventory, assist in marketing promotions.
• POS/Register - Assist workers with cash collection, follow recording keeping procedures.
• Safety - Endure all personal protection equipment is in use at all times
• Cleanliness - maintain a clean and safe kitchen at all times.
• Staffing - secure food service workers, and substitutes.
