Job summary

Smithfield Foods is seeking a production supervisor to lead frontline teams in a high-volume facility. You will oversee the entire production process from yield tracking to real-time adjustments, ensuring safety and USDA standards throughout manufacturing.

You’ll train, coach, and motivate your team to meet targets while maintaining quality and cost efficiency. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of relevant experience, strong communication and problem-solving skills, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field and 2+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination.
• Experience acting as a lead by training, coaching, or mentoring others or managing a process/project.
• Strong communication skills (oral and written) while leading problem-solving for complex process issues.
• Motivating, training, and coaching employees to peak performance in a positive environment.
• Adaptable to fast-paced environments and willing to work long hours/weekends; travel up to 5%.

Responsibilities

• Safety and Compliance: perform daily inspections, lead safety audits, ensure HACCP and USDA regulations.
• Product Quality and Training: enforce Food Safety/Quality plans, train on SOPs including lock-out/tag-out.
• Operational Efficiency: track yields/variances, improve workflows with managers to reduce downtime and costs.
• Team Leadership and Communication: guide hourly employees, lead monthly line meetings, daily floor walks.
• Continuous Improvement: analyze product metrics, identify improvements to boost efficiency and quality.
