Job summary

Smithfield Foods is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead the front-line operations on the production floor. You will oversee the entire manufacturing process, ensuring safety, quality, and adherence to USDA standards while guiding and training a team of hourly staff to meet daily targets.

You will drive communication across shifts, monitor yields and efficiency, and maintain equipment readiness. This role requires strong leadership, problem-solving, and a commitment to continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience leading and mentoring staff or managing a process or project.
• Strong communication and analytical skills for solving complex process issues.
• Motivation, coaching, and teamwork to achieve peak performance.
• Willingness to work long hours, weekends, and travel up to 5%.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety audits and ensure HACCP and USDA compliance on the production floor.
• Maintain product quality by enforcing safety and quality plans and procedures.
• Track production yields, efficiency, and variances; collaborate with Ops managers to improve workflows.
• Direct hourly production employees and lead monthly line meetings; walk the floor daily.
• Identify improvement opportunities to boost efficiency and reduce costs.
