Job summary

Smithfield Foods is seeking a Production Supervisor to oversee daily operations on the production floor. You will lead hourly employees, ensure safety and quality standards, and coordinate training to maintain high performance and compliance with HACCP and USDA guidelines.

You will drive efficiency, monitor yields and variances, and collaborate with Operations Managers to meet production goals while managing costs.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited four‑year college or university in Business or a related field and 2+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience acting as a lead by providing training, coaching, or mentoring to staff.
Strong communication skills (oral and written) with problem-solving abilities.
Ability to motivate, train, and coach employees to peak performance in a team environment.
Willingness to work long hours, weekends, and travel up to 5%.

Responsibilities

Safety and Compliance: perform daily inspections, lead safety audits, and ensure HACCP/USDA compliance.
Product Quality and Training: enforce quality plans and train on safe operating procedures.
Operational Efficiency: track yields, efficiencies, and variances to improve workflows and reduce costs.
Team Leadership and Communication: direct hourly staff, lead line meetings, and walk the floor daily.
Continuous Improvement: analyze metrics and propose changes to boost efficiency and quality.
