Job summary

Smithfield Foods is seeking a production supervisor to lead frontline operations, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency on the production floor. You will oversee daily yields, coach a team, and maintain USDA health standards across the manufacturing process.

In this role, you’ll train and motivate hourly staff, drive clear communication, and coordinate with Operations Managers to meet targets while controlling costs. Your leadership will shape overall production outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business or related field with 2+ years of experience, or equivalent.
• Experience leading and coaching staff or managing a process/project.
• Strong communication and problem-solving with solid analytical and math abilities.

Responsibilities

• Safety and compliance: perform daily inspections, lead safety audits, ensure HACCP/USDA regs.
• Product quality and training: enforce safety/quality plans and SOPs including lock-out/tag-out.
• Operational efficiency: track yields, efficiencies, and variances; improve workflows and equipment use.
• Team leadership and communication: direct hourly employees, lead monthly line meetings and floor walks.
• Continuous improvement: analyze product metrics and implement efficiency/quality improvements.
