Job summary

Applied Industrial Technologies, a leading distributor of industrial motion and fluid power products, seeks an experienced Outside Sales professional in Ohio. You will drive growth with existing customers and new business by leveraging hydraulic, pneumatic, and electro-mechanical knowledge to design power units and troubleshoot problems.

Compensation is based on gross margin generated in the territory, with a strong emphasis on customer relationships and effective solution selling.

Qualifications

• Industrial outside sales experience.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with a desire to learn.
• Ability to work independently.
• Proven experience maintaining existing customer base while developing new business.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Knowledge of pumps-hoses-fittings-hydraulics and pneumatics is a bonus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Review sales and current market information to determine the sales potential of customers.
• Recommend products to customers, based upon customer's needs and business interests.
• Contact current and prospective customers to grow business relationships and the Hydradyne brand.
• Prepares drawings, estimates, and bids to meet specific needs of customers.
• Meet with customers to demonstrate and explain features and benefits of products and services.
• Obtains credit information on prospective customers.
• Answer questions about products, prices, and quality, durability and credit terms.
• Prepare lists of prospective customers, call reports, and other reports as required.
• Closes sale contracts or forms to record sales information.
• Investigate and resolve customer complaints.
• Oversees delivery or installation of products to equipment.
