Job summary

Metric Geo seeks an Engineering Director to lead and expand its Florida Water/Wastewater practice. This senior role requires a 20+ year water/wastewater background with deep knowledge of Florida municipal markets and established client relationships.

You will oversee multidisciplinary projects from planning through commissioning, mentor staff, and drive business development across Florida. Travel 10-30% is expected; the role offers competitive compensation and strong growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 20+ years of water/wastewater consulting experience.
• Strong understanding of the Florida municipal water/wastewater market.
• Established client relationships and a successful business development track record.
• Experience leading large or multidisciplinary engineering projects and teams.
• Active PE license.
• Strong leadership, communication, and project management capabilities.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary water/wastewater projects from planning through design, permitting, construction, and commissioning.
• Oversee projects involving water distribution, wastewater collection, pump stations, storage, treatment facilities, and rehabilitation.
• Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, staffing, quality, risk, and profitability.
• Develop and maintain relationships with municipal and private-sector clients across Florida.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities; lead proposals and client development efforts.
• Mentor and develop engineers, project managers, and technical staff.
• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to deliver multidisciplinary solutions.
• Contribute to the strategic growth and development of the Florida Water practice.
• Travel approximately 10-30% for meetings, project requirements, and BD.
