Job summary

GAI Consultants seeks an Engineering Director, P.E. in Orlando, FL to lead and grow its Florida Water Division on a hybrid schedule.

You will manage a team of project managers, engineers, and technicians, guiding planning, design, permitting, and construction for public and private clients statewide. You will leverage 15+ years of water/wastewater experience, Florida market relationships, and strong leadership to advance business development and project success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Civil/Environmental Engineering.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) with reciprocity in multiple states.
• 15+ years of engineering experience.
• Experience across planning, design, permitting, and construction for water/wastewater utilities.
• Strong Florida municipal water/wastewater market knowledge and client communication.
• Proven leadership and business development abilities with broad influence.

Responsibilities

• Independently lead multidiscipline teams on water distribution and wastewater projects.
• Plan, manage, and control scope, schedule, budget, safety, QA/QC, profitability, and client satisfaction.
• Develop and manage a team of project managers, engineers, and technicians.
• Mentor junior and mid-career staff in technical and PM knowledge.
• Lead project pursuits and build relationships for new work with clients.
• Coordinate scopes, schedules, and fees for selected projects; pursue opportunities.
