Job summary

The Seattle Housing Authority is seeking a Floor Coverer to join our maintenance team in Seattle, WA. The role involves installing and maintaining a variety of floor coverings, from carpet to tile, and ensuring quality workmanship on our properties.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid WA driver's license, and prior floor covering experience in building maintenance or related fields.

Qualifications

• Experience installing and maintaining various flooring types.
• Ability to read measurements and estimate material needs.
• Attention to safety and quality standards in building maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Remove, install, cut, and lay carpet, tile, linoleum, and resilient floor coverings.
• Remove and install related substrates and underlayments as required.
• Install materials and devices securing floor coverings in place.
• Measure and estimate floor covering materials for each job.
• Stock warehouse and job sites with tiles and rolls of flooring material.

The position:

We're looking for a Floor Coverer to join our team! This role is perfect for someone who has experience with laying and maintaining flooring of all types, from carpet to tile!

The Location:

1300 N 130th St, Seattle WA 98133

The ideal candidate will have:

• High School diploma or equivalent education
• A valid Washington State Driver's License and fully insurable driving record
• Experience as a floor coverer in building maintenance, construction, or decorative fields

What will you do?

• Remove, install, apply, cut, or lay carpet, linoleum sheet goods, linoleum tile, carpet tile, vinyl composition tile, ceramic tile, and resilient coatings
• Remove and install plastic laminates, non-slip or abrasive materials, rubber, cork, or plastic materials as may be required
• Remove and install devices for attaching carpets, linoleum, rubber, and all other resilient floor coverings
• Measure and estimate floor covering materials on each job as assigned
• Stock warehouse and job sites with boxes of tiles, and large rolls of carpet
