Job summary

Seattle Housing Authority (SHA) seeks a Construction Project Manager to lead construction and renovation projects; ensure compliance with codes, manage budgets, and supervise staff across SHA sites.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Architecture (or 4 additional years of directly relevant experience), a Washington driver’s license, and at least three years of PM experience including supervisory responsibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Architecture; four additional years of relevant experience may be considered
• Valid Washington State Driver’s License and insurable driving record
• Three years construction or project management experience, including one year in supervision

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned construction, renovation, remodel and retrofit projects; conduct site inspections and analyze physical conditions
• Coordinate and supervise management of projects including means and methods, material specs, drawings, schedules and estimates
• Prepare funding applications; develop RFPs, RFQs, IFBs for contracts; select and manage consultants; execute service contracts
• Develop cost estimates, budgets and schedules; manage funding, approve and control pay requests and change orders
• Provide technical expertise to the Director; assist in policy and program development
• Coordinate construction work with regulatory agencies and code compliance authorities

The Position

We’re looking for a Construction Project Manager to join our team! This role is perfect for someone with experience leading construction and renovation projects; who has an eye for compliance, budgeting, and staff supervision.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

• A bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Architecture required; however, four additional years of directly relevant experience may be considered in lieu of the required degree
• A valid Washington State Driver’s License and fully insurable driving record
• Three years construction or project management experience, including one year in a supervisory capacity

What Will You Do?

• Manage assigned construction, renovation, remodel and retrofit projects; conduct physical site inspections and prepare analysis of physical conditions; research issues including site conditions, relocation issues, accessibility and others.
• Coordinate and supervise the management of construction projects including means and methods, material specifications, drawings, schedules and estimates.
• Prepare applications for funding; prepare RFPs, RFQs, and IFBs for consultant and professional contracts and services related to construction projects; research and develop scope of services needed. Manage and assist in the selection of professionals; prepare and execute service contracts.
• Develop cost estimates and project budgets and schedules for construction activities; complete budget revisions as required to assure proper funding; analyze, approve and control pay requests and change orders from contractors and consultants.
• Provide technical expertise, information and assistance to the Director regarding assigned functions; assist as needed in the formulation and development of policies, procedures and programs
• Coordinate construction work with various regulatory agencies, authorities and code compliance agencies
