Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant to float among Illinois facilities in Zones 4 and 5. The role supports RNs with daily patient care, vital signs, and intake/output documentation in EMR. Requires BLS and state Nurse Aide registry status.

Qualifications

• GED or High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Two years acute care CNA experience preferred.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers within 45 days; Nurse Aide in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN with daily patient care including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, activity orders and ambulation.
• Measure and document blood pressures, TPRs, I&O, daily weights in EMR.
• Perform purposeful rounding and communicate observations to RN.
• Assist with admission, transfer and discharge processes and room setup.
• Collect urine, stool, and sputum specimens and perform point‑of‑care testing as indicated.
• Run errands and maintain stock for nursing area; clean equipment and work areas.
• Assist with patient positioning and transporting; support nutrition and diet needs.
• Maintain skin integrity with proper repositioning and use of TED hose/CP devices.
• May remove IVs, provide post mortem care, and bladder scans as required.
• Follow infection prevention policies and PPE use.
