Job summary

ExcelliSearch, Inc. is seeking a Phlebotomist for a contract position in Montgomery County, MD. The role involves blood draws, specimen labeling, and processing, with a focus on accuracy and compliance. This is a float position with coverage across multiple locations in the county.

The 1st shift runs Mon–Fri, 7am–4pm or 8am–5pm, with EOS 8am–12pm. Duration is 3 months with potential for permanent employment. Experience with venipuncture, labeling, centrifugation and OSHA/DEP rules is required.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explains the venipuncture process clearly and courteous to patients; demonstrates technique with straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Matches laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes and ensures 100% correct labeling and processing.
• Packages specimens for transport and stores samples per required temperatures and protocols.
