Advocate Health seeks a Patient Services Representative to handle patient registration, verify demographics and insurance, and collect liabilities. This role requires handling financial clearance, referring patients to Financial Counselor when needed, and ensuring accurate, timely data entry.

You will support efficient patient flow across multiple clinic sites, travel to assigned locations, and maintain compliance with payer requirements while delivering courteous service.

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or GED required. Patient access experience preferred.
• Experience with scheduling, registration and financial clearance is preferred.
• Knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid and third-party payer requirements is a plus.

Aufgaben

• Greets patients arriving for their appointments and manages patient flow.
• Verifies and updates patient demographic and insurance information.
• Completes registration for walk-in patients and collects liabilities.
• Verifies benefits and calculates out-of-pocket costs; collects balances or estimates due.
• Follows Financial Clearance policies and refers to Financial Counselor when needed.
• Identifies patients needing financial assistance and refers to Financial Counselor.
• Performs visit closure including scheduling follow-ups and providing documents.
• Maintains knowledge of payer requirements and pre-authorization rules.
• Communicates issues to management for process improvement.
• Meets productivity and accuracy targets as part of department metrics.
• Maintains professional relations with patients and staff for smooth information flow.
