Job summary

Valiant Residential is seeking a Floating Assistant Maintenance to assist the maintenance supervisor and support leasing teams. You will handle service requests within 24 hours, manage on-call rotations, and ensure safety and compliance with ADA, Fair Housing, OSHA, and company policies.

Qualifications

• Two years of full-time experience in apartment maintenance or a related trade.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification is a plus.
• EPA refrigerant, transition, and recovery certification required.
• Strong verbal and written English skills; bilingual in Spanish a plus.
• Own a basic set of hand tools and valid driver's license.
• Willingness to travel and work some weekends.

Responsibilities

• Complete resident service requests within 24 hours when possible.
• Manage system for handling requests and on-call rotation.
• Follow company policies, state and federal laws (ADA, Fair Housing, OSHA).
• Assist distribution of flyers and materials.
• Maintain safety materials and inspect property for unsafe conditions.
• Keep records of preventive maintenance, service requests, and make-ready status.
• Schedule and perform routine maintenance on equipment; inspect tools.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, plumbing, HVAC, appliances, and other systems.
• Participate in standby emergency schedules and property inspections.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
